Putting Obama in perspective

So the results are in over the pond. The Senate stays Democrat, the House goes Republican, and the Tea Party are already a dying force in american politics.

Despite the fact that every US President since FDR has lost ground in their first mid-terms, the press on both sides of the Atlantic are painting this as the citizens rising up and fighting back against Obama’s changes to their nation.

There is a weird perception among our American cousins that healthcare free at the point-of-use is the devil’s work. But then, as a historian by training, I’m aware that the USA has been here before. So I thought I’d put this all in perspective for you.
